Jekyll Island has nine hotels on the island that offer visitors a variety of accommodations for every budget. Choose from a world-class resort to a budget motel, and from beachfront views of the Atlantic Ocean to riverfront hotels located in the Historic Landmark District. The variety is mixed, with efficiencies, large suites, villas, bed and breakfast style hotels all available right on the island. Or, if you wish to stay on the mainland and make Jekyll Island a day trip, the amount and variety of lodging choices are practically endless.

If you choose to, you can stay at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel, which is now a National Historic Landmark, fully restored and in the heart of the Historic District. This stately Victorian structure is set among oak trees covered with Spanish moss and offers accommodations in five different settings. You can enjoy playing croquet on the resort grounds, or go charter fishing, horseback riding or play golf. Visitors enjoy real turn-of-the-century charm in this grand Victorian hotel with all the modern conveniences, along with seasonal children’s programs, casual and fine dining, a private beach club, gift shop and a heated swimming pool. Other island hotels include two villas, where you can expect to find individually appointed, one, two and three bedroom condos/suites, featuring fully equipped kitchens, private living room/dining areas, full baths, separate bedrooms and private patio or balconies. One villa is nestled on 17 acres among grand old oaks and lush landscaping. Another is on 15 acres of oceanfront property. Both feature on site restaurant and lounge with nightly entertainment and many other amenities. Jekyll Island also boasts several nationally recognized hotel chains. Some of the features of these types of hotels include outdoor pools, on-site laundry facilities, free breakfast, oversized king and double beds, beach access, on site tennis courts, and more. Special attention is paid to furnishings in all Jekyll Island hotels with emphasis on casual beach style luxury. It all depends on your individual taste and budget.

Some people who visit Jekyll Island prefer the privacy of staying in a rental cottage. These fully furnished accommodations are available through local real estate companies and range from one to six bedrooms, and in a broad price range (usually $250 to $3,500 per week, depending on location, size and the type of amenities.) Most come with central heat and air conditioning, color cable TV, telephone and fully equipped kitchens. Cottages are usually available by the week, month or sometimes for shorter periods of time. Although generally referred to as “cottages,” these rentals actually include homes, apartments and villas.

Camping is also available on the Jekyll Island Campground, which is situated on 18 wooded acres located on the north end of the island. The campground offers199 sites, for tents to full hook-up and RV, with water, sewage and electric. The campground also features a camp store and on-site laundry facilities.
